Join the “Made in America” Challenge
I recently saw David Muir speaking with Diane Sawyer about buying American this Christmas. I was intrigued and then astonished when David Muir said we could create 260,000 jobs in America if each one of us bought one $64 present this Christmas that was made in America. This means checking the labels because most of our products aren’t made in America. In the 1960s, 9 out of 10 Christmas presents were made in America. Last year less than half our gifts were made here. If you’d like to see the entire interview click here.
There’s nothing I like more than giving artisan gifts. If they are made by my friends then it’s even better! So this year I’ve taken the challenge to give as many American gifts as I can. I hope you will join me.
Below are listed websites where you can view and purchase Artisan gifts. I’ve a selection across the country so you can find someone close to you. And let’s not forget the writers around us. Tee-hee. Below the Artisan websites you’ll find lots of writers with great new reads for your friends.
Also, please feel free to comment with your own websites. If they are approprate for gifts I’ll leave them up, but if they are inapproprate I will remove them. Yes, that means you spammers.
Happiest of Holidays to you All!
