TARTE AUX POMMES A LA BAVAROISE
In honor of the posting of my new short story–The Language of Love–this blog will be dedicated to one of those things I love most in life: Food. This recipe was given to me by a dear friend who lives in Montreal. It has become a favorite of my family. As someone who doesn’t like cooked apples, I have to tell you this pie is delicious.
Creamy Apple Pie
1 pie shell – deep dish. Cook lightly to prepare.
12oz. Philadelphia crème cheese softened
¼ c sugar
1 egg
½ teaspoon of vanilla
Mix all 4 ingredients together until soft spread in pie shell
Topping
4 cups sliced apples (approx 4 to 5 apples peeled)
½ teaspoon cinnamon
1/3 cups brown sugar
• your choice—coat apples with lemon juice so not to turn brown.
Spread on top of cheese mixture
Spread about ¼ cup or more sliced almonds on top of apples
Cook at 425F for 10 minutes. Then reduce to 375F for about 30 minutes.
Let it cool for 3 hours before eating. Once it’s cooled down, put it in the fridge.
Bon Appétit !
It looks absolutely delicious and sounds like a taste of heaven!
Looking forward to reading ‘The Language of Love’. Lyn x
Hey Lynette, Thanks for stopping by. I’m still reading The Apple Tree and am on the edge of my seat to see if things go where they look like they are going… I should finish by this weekend.
Love your blog….everything from the recipe for apple pie to the visit to the butcher…did you eat the beef, and was it aged or rotten?
Hey Judy,
Thanks for stopping by. The meat in France is actually very flavorful especially the roast beef. I’ve never to this day tried horse meat. It makes me understand why people are vegetarians.
Oooh, this pie looks heavenly and, fortunately for me, not too difficult. Thanks for sharing.
*hugs*

Hello JD and fellow RWAer. Thanks for stopping by. The hardest part of making this is peeling and slicing the apples. I usually make two when I make them, one for whatever event I’m making the first one for and one for me. :)
